On June 16th Judges Mr. Frank Sabella and Mr. Dennis McCoy added another link to a remarkable chain of success. “Remy “ Ch. Brighton Minimoto is the fifth consecutive generation of Poodle Club of America Winners. Starting with Ch. Whisperwind On a Carousel Poodle Club of America Best Of Variety 1989 then Ch. Trelarken Turn back Time Poodle Club of America Best of Breed 1996, Ch. Lake Cove That’s My Boy Poodle Club of America Best Of Breed 1997and Ch. Ale Kai Mikimoto on Fifth Poodle Club of America Best Of Breed 2002. More important than this win is the recognition from Messer. Sabella & McCoy, there could hardly be more qualified judges of this breed, to receive their approval is truly humbling. Both men have been intertwined with this chain of success as judges and handler.
We first saw “Remy” at the Tampa Bay Poodle Club in January 2005, Rachel said to me “look at that 6-9 puppy she’s really nice” I looked up and agreed with her, moments later the judge agreed and she was awarded her first points under Breeder Judge Mr. Dana Plonkey. Rachel and I spoke with “Remy’s” breeder L’dynne Brennan and her owners Cindy Coggin & Don Rochow and they allowed us to take her. “Remy” went on to win three more majors in puppy trim under Breeder judge Mrs. Peg Schnarrenberger, Mr. Norman Patton and Mrs. Robert Forsyth. Mrs. Forsyth told me that day she predicted a good future for my puppy, little did we know she would be so right as a couple weeks later she was Winners bitch at Poodle Club of America under Judge Mrs. Debra Cozart and Best Puppy in Show under Judge Mr. Richard Bauer. On this occasion she was beautifully presented by Gina Wieser.
Remy returned to the ring in April 2006 under the Co ownership of Zuleika Borges Torrealba and won her First Specialty, The Washington Poodle Club under Judge Mrs. William Kendrick, she has been shown a handful of times since and in June she started an Incredible month when she was awarded her first All Breed Best In Show under Judge Mrs. Michele Billings, a win we will treasure. We feel Remy is a Poodle of exceptional quality and we are proud of her accomplishments but we are most proud of the quality of judges that affirmed these thoughts. She will be selectively shown through 2006 before being more heavily campaigned in 2007. Thank you to all that have been involved.
