What a great year for and everyone on the Cupola Farm team! He's followed up his two prestigious breed wins at Eukanuba and Westminster with three Best In Shows from the likes of Judge Miss Maxine Beam, Mr. Roger Hartinger and Mrs. Roberta Davies. And that's just within the last two months! He's also earned nearly 50 Group Firsts, and counting. That kind of success has propelled him to be the Number One Pembroke Welsh Corgi (CC Breed System) and the Number Five Herding Group dog (The Dog News Top Ten List at time of publishing).
From the day Frank Murphy, Rowdy's handler, first discovered him while he was being shown by his co-owner and breeder, Deborah Cox, he knew that had the potential of being a champion among champions. And he should know; Murphy holds the record for the most Pembroke Best In Show wins.
What's been the reason for Rowdy's great year? Some say it's his rugged good looks. Some say it has to be his John Wayne never-say-die attitude. Still others point to his exceptional movement, his perfectly level top-line or that he has the heart and soul of a natural show dog. When asked, Murphy explained that Rowdy's success comes from his exquisite Pembroke type; “When you think of what a Pembroke should look like, you're picturing .”
Whatever the reason, Rowdy is a winner among the highest of competition.
You'd think that would be livin' high on the hog with all that success, but his year isn't over yet. His co-owner, Kiki Courtelis of Cupola Farm, says that he still has some major goals to accomplish this season, especially when December and February roll around.
The Cupola Farm team feels that there is no measure to the joy brings to their lives. They hope that everyone who loves showing dogs as much as they do gets an opportunity to own and handle a dog like .
has big goals, and they're enjoying the amazing ride.
