“Glory”...
the definition means fame, adoration and honor that is given to someone who does something important. Or it can mean astounding beauty that inspires feelings of wonder or joy.
“Glory” is half sister to “Fame,” the multiple Best in Show/Best in Specialty Show winning Great Pyrenees that was number one in 2003 and 2004, won the Great Pyrenees Club of America National Specialty and was the Working Group winner at the Westminster Kennel Club in 2005.
Following in big brother’s pawprints, Glory herself has become a multiple Best In Show/Best In Specialty Show winner and was the number one* Great Pyrenees bitch for 2006 and number two overall. Her littermate Bounder was Best of Breed at the January 2006 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show and she was the Best of Breed winner for the December 2006 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Show.
Only shown on a limited basis in 2006 she garnered the first Best in Show for a Great Pyrenees bitch in California. She was the winner of 15 Group Firsts and a total of Four Best in Shows for the year.
Hand raised by Bernie and Rick Ducker (her mother, “Honor” died of a rare form of cancer when they were a week old), “Glory” is a diva and princess. Her Royal Highness is shown by her own lady in waiting, Karen Bruneau, and is the epitome of elegance as described in the Standard: “The Great Pyrenees moves smoothly and elegantly, true and straight ahead, exhibiting both power and agility.”
Watch for Her Highness to hold court in the ring for 2007 and whether she is going to claim adoration and honor or if she will inspire feelings of joy we hope she will at the very least inspire the fancy to take a look at the feminine side of this noble breed.
