Wood Wornall first saw Sonya during a trip to England.
While visiting her breeder, Judy Averis of Saredon Kennels, his eye was instantly drawn to this lovely classic wire fox terrier bitch. He knew she was perfect for his client Mrs. Dorothy Newell and imported her for Lakeridge Kennels.
What a wonderful addition she is! Sonya is currently one of the top winning Wire Fox Terriers in the country, winning numerous All-Breed and Specialty Bests in Show. This year was highlighted with prestigious breed wins at Westminster Kennel Club and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.

Dorothy Newell has been involved with purebred dogs since 1967, beginning with German Shepherds that competed in conformation, obedience and herding. In recent years she became quite interested in Wire Fox Terriers and in 2003 acquired Eng. Am. Ch. Saredon Almost An Angel from Wood Wornall. Angel’s show career includes numerous breed and group wins, including Award of Merits at Westminster Kennel Club 2004 and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship 2003. Dorothy is happily raising Angel’s first litter of future Lakeridge champions and enjoying Sonya’s continuing success in the show ring.
