Honoring 2004's BEST of the Best of Breed Dogs The statistics printed monthly in DOG NEWS and Dog News Online are the most current, updated and accurate figures available to breeders on a monthly basis. The winner of a Pedigree Award has defeated more of its breed or variety than any other dog in competition for Best of Breed during the calendar year. The American Kennel Club compiles these figures from AKC licensed and member club dog show statistics and makes the results available to Pedigree.
	The Pedigree Awards® are offered by Pedigree® in recognition of the owner and of the unique role of the breeder and their dedication to breeding the Best of the Best of Breed. These dogs have defeated more dogs of their breed or variety than any other dog during 2004. These statistics are provided by the American Kennel Club and reflect the standings as maintained in official American Kennel Club records.
