It’s finally summer, and with the temperature rising, unwanted visitors of the season are upon us again. Ticks of various varieties are flouring with the intense heat. There are deer ticks, which are known to pass on Lyme disease, and now we have the Asian Longhorned ticks that have arrived from overseas. Then there is a Lone Star tick, which as a result of its bite can cause an allergy to red meat. That tick has spread its wings (pardon the pun) all the way into Canada. So pull up your socks, and check yourself and your dogs every day. ...
While judging in Sacramento, ANN YUHASZ had her hotel room broken into, and her jewelry and belongings were stolen. Fortunately, there was a happy ending, as she had most of her possessions returned thanks to a find-the-location app. It is a scenario that fortunately is uncommon when you think of all the traveling and hotel stays we have during the year. ...

Together with her sister, professional handler LOIS DEMERS, she enjoyed great success in the ring. Among the wins was the Westminster Kennel Club Non-Sporting Group. ...
Professional handler JEFF HEIM has passed away. JEFF was born and raised in California. He was a real gentleman and one of those rare individuals who just kept his head down and did his job, and quite well I might add. All of us at DOG NEWS send our deepest sympathies to his wife and family. ...
