This was the first time I attended BUCKS & TRENTON since their combining of show venues at the TRENTON site. While still held at the state park, the shows moved to different, higher ground that removed the possibility of flooding that plagued the old site. Good to see that these two clubs can work together to keep the weekend the prestigious one that it is. ...
It was good to see JAY RICHARDSON, whose son turned 17 (wasn’t it just yesterday that he was born?) and KAREN WILSON, who will be celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary with husband GARY as they await the birth of their 30th great-grandchild. How lucky all these grandchildren and great-grandchildren are to have such a wonderful lady in their lives. ...
The WORLD DOG SHOW that will take place in Helsinki, Finland, in early August has already had an entry of approximately 16,000 dogs, with a projected total entry of 20,000. One reason for the early entry is that the cost of an entry rises closer to the closing date. So if you are planning to exhibit, you might want to take advantage of the early entry fees. Of all the WORLD DOG SHOWS I have attended, the Finns are the best organized and most professional, able to handle the large entry and have it run smoothly. Unlike the 20,000-plus entry every year at CRUFTS, which has the running of its show down to a science, for FCI countries that host the WORLD DOG SHOWS it’s a one-off situation, not always with the best results. ...
