Profession: Dog-show handler

Dog-sport involvement: Professional handler and breeder of Rhodesian Ridgebacks

1. Do you have any dog-show superstitions?  

No superstitions, but it does seem unlucky to show to some judges. 

 

2. TV-show guilty pleasure?

“Yellowstone”!

 

3. If you were president of AKC for one day, what would you do?  

Implement some important rules:

• Judging programs must be available at the superintendent’s table the afternoon before the first day. 

• No real group shall ever be held up because of an owner-handler group. 
• There shall be enough judges on panel for shows under 1,000 dogs to start groups no later than 3 o’clock. 
• All shows held outdoors or in un-air-conditioned buildings where temperatures will be above 80 degrees shall call for casual dress in premium list and judging program. 
• Bonuses for judges who do groups on Sundays faster than Jon Cole. 
• Fines for judges who make a cut in a group on Sunday. 
• Suspensions for judges who make their cut and then make the losers do another lap. 
 

4. Most valued material possession?

2019 F250 with six-inch lift and 37-inch tires. 

 

5. What is something no one would guess about you?

Like Steve Martin, I was born a poor black child. 

 

6. Who would you compare yourself to?

It never occurred to me to compare myself with anyone, but a lot of people say:

That I am as well dressed as Bobby H. 
That I have hair as good as Howard H. 
That I am as loyal a friend as Rick J. 
That I am as serious about my job as Linda P. 
That I am as fun to talk to as Lenny B. 
That I am as good a judge as Michael W. 
That I am as rich as Michael C. 
That I can put on a dog show as well as Bob B.
That I can show a dog like Andy L. 

 

7. What are you “famous” for?

Taking myself too seriously. 

 

8. What website do you visit most often?

Titties and Beer Facebook page.

 

9. What was more memorable, your most satisfying win or disappointing defeat? And what was it?

Most memorable: The day I beat Jimmy and Mystique for Best in Show. Oh, never mind, that never happened. 

 

10. What do you wish someone would ask you?

“Aren’t you Kevin Costner?”
