Marriage is in the air … Well-known and popular judge and soon-to-be WESTMINSTER KENNEL CLUB Best in Show judge DONALD STURZ was married this past weekend to SEAN GILLESPIE in the Cherry Grove community of Fire Island, where the couple met six years ago. Surrounded by family and friends, they took their vows overlooking the Great South Bay. In attendance were the entire STURZ family, including dad DON STURZ, SR., sister JANET and her daughters JILLIAN and JAYME, as well as PATTI PROCTOR, PAT CRUZ, MICHAEL FAULKNER and his husband MICHAEL RAWLINGS. The numbers are in for the long-awaited MORRIS & ESSEX KENNEL CLUB DOG SHOW. There are 4,015 dogs entered with 4,454 entries. Rounding out those great numbers is a full complement of every breed recognized by the American Kennel Club. Judge EDD BIVIN, who was scheduled to judge at MORRIS & ESSEX, has had to withdraw, as he is having knee-replacement surgery. EDD expects to be back in the ring judging in just a few weeks’ time. Just weeks after almost losing her home to an electrical fire, DANA PEARL passed away from a heart attack. An English Cocker Spaniel fancier, she was a force at the MALIBU KENNEL CLUB, which will hold their next dog show in her memory. Our sympathies to her family and friends.
